Welcome to my website

I started this page as a way to keep people up to date with my work in the Middle East; now I'm struggling to work out how to build on this. Working in the City is interesting and engaging, and I'm getting used to the pattern of work in the week and rest at the weekend.

I'm now out in Dubai for six months as part of my training contract. I'm specialising in Islamic Finance while I'm here, which some would say is an area of law consisting largely of smoke and mirrors. I'm looking forward to finding out what actually goes into it and forming a view on whether it's legitimate. Unfortunately, in some respects, I'm only likely to be in contact with those who have a vested interest in encouraging people to adopt Shariah compliant products, but will seek out alternative views if I can!
